perou

Perou.

I think the girls in the photograph weren’t posing but they were jumping around in a certain way to get a certain image/look. I like it because the lighting is quite bright and it’s a youthful picture which looks a bit girly and like they were having fun. I think this photo might of been taken on a tripod because of how still the image is.

I like this photograph because it is simple but creative. With just the quite plain outfits and not much colour apart from the red paint which I think must have been threw into the image as the photo was being taken. I am guessing that the models had jumped off something to get a flying effect.

This is a photograph taken of Jonathan Pryce. I think the pose and the shadows on his face make this picture really interesting as it interacts with the black and white theme of the picture. I like the black and white effect because its quite simple yet it can change a lot about a picture. I find the pose he is doing is a bit mysterious, as if he is hiding his face from someone or not wanting to make eye contact.

This last photo is my most favorite of all four. I think that this photograph was taken slightly off angle, it is also sharply in focus and has a short depth of field. It is a close up on the face and because of the different lighting and colours it looks like a floating head which I think looks really good. The neon colours in this picture excite me the most and catch my attention I think this is because it is quite unusual and unique.

My summery of Perous work is that I really like his style of photographts and how he can turn anything simple into something really creative. I also like how all his photos haven't got to much going on and how they are not cluttered but still some are really interesting to look at. I think Perous pictures have quite a modern feel to them which also catches my attention more.

assignment 3; lighting

Lighting.

This slideshare is a bit boring and drags a bit but it helps with all aspects of lighting.

Light is an important part of photography. Photographers use light in their photos, sometimes taking advantage of the natural light in their surroundings and other times using their own lights to achieve a certain lighting effect.

http://www.lowel.com/edu/glossary/  this website has short points about lighting but has points explaining everything about  lighting.

focal point; assignment 3

Focal point

This photograph of Johnny Depp was taken by Annie Leibovitz. He is the main focal point in the picture. This is shown by him being in complete focus and the backround out of focus. I think in this image Jonny Depp looks dreamy but i also think that he is posing for the photo. I think this picture has a tint of violet over the whole photo.

Focal point definition- a central point of attention or interest.

http://digital-photography-school.com/using-focal-points-in-photography i found this website very useful because it explains focal point in a lot of detail and doesn’t distract you with other useless points.

assignment 3; depth of field

Depth of field.

Depth of field is the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in sharp focus in a photograph. A preferred part of the image will be in focus which is depth of field. Depth of field will enhance certain parts of the image while blurring other areas of the photograph.

This photograph was taken by Annie Liebowitz. -

This image is good evidence of depth of field, because the people in the image are clear and in focus exspecially the closer male with a hat on. The cups and trees in the backgroud arn't in focus which makes the people stand out more. The depth of field is taken in a strange way on his image asif he cups where spinning which sets the theme of actually being there in the image.

You can get depth of field on your image by using certain lenses and experimenting with different settings on your camera.

I found this site very useful as it explains a lot about depth of field and simply so its not to confusing.

assignment 3; composition

Composition

Definition- Photo composition is the arrangement of the subject of the photo, in contrast to it's surroundings, and point of view.

Learning composition is common knowledge that it will help your photography but you shouldn’t pay to much attention to it. You shouldn’t always just follow all the rules but you should use our knowledge to shape your photos into something which is more appealing to the human eye.

This website is a useful website for beginners because it isn't to complex or to over facing with information. However the information this site gives you is easy to understand and is helpful with other areas of photography and not just coposition. -

first anayasis; vee speers

This picture is of a girl holding a black bird in the palm of her hand. She is all dressed in white and agaisnt a white wall. This photo was produced by Vee Speers an austrailian photographer who is 51 years old. Vee Speers studied in Queensland collage. Vee Speers is mostly based in Paris since she moved there in 1990.

This is one of he pictures in The Birthday Party series. The seris is linkd because they are all photos f children ages between 7-10 who are all dressed up for a fancy dress party.

This photo was took in he 21st century,so i think it was took digitally. This photo is portrait and probably took in a studio.

This is a quote from Vee Speers about her work "I don’t like to follow the crowd. I like to seduce, with images that are at once disturbing and beautiful, but leaving a space for the viewer to enter my world. My portraits combine elements which evoke conflicting emotions that can surprise the viewer, telling a story that is somewhere between fantasy and reality, the obvious and the unexpected."

I like this picture because it is all mostly light colours and how the young girl is perfetly still like shes a statue. I like the bird because that is the only dark coloured part of the picture. The whole series of The Birthday Party interests me because I like all of the theme, I think all of the outfits are amazing and I get the feeling that the children don't want to be there by their faces, they look evil.
