assignment 3; depth of field

Depth of field.

Depth of field is the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in sharp focus in a photograph. A preferred part of the image will be in focus which is depth of field. Depth of field will enhance certain parts of the image while blurring other areas of the photograph.

This photograph was taken by Annie Liebowitz. -

This image is good evidence of depth of field, because the people in the image are clear and in focus exspecially the closer male with a hat on. The cups and trees in the backgroud arn't in focus which makes the people stand out more. The depth of field is taken in a strange way on his image asif he cups where spinning which sets the theme of actually being there in the image.

You can get depth of field on your image by using certain lenses and experimenting with different settings on your camera.

I found this site very useful as it explains a lot about depth of field and simply so its not to confusing.
